HORSE/RIDER SUBSTITUTIONS: Please check the rules for specifics.... you are allowed one per year!
2009 Futurity Guidelines; Open to horses foaled 2004 & later or 5 years and younger. Has not competed in a barrel race prior to December 1, 2008. Must turn in copy of both sides of registration papers with entry- no exceptions. Class is run in a 1D format or straight payout. A hit barrel is recorded with a +5.
For your convienence, RCBR accepts entries for a race throughout the end of the Open class. We also accept and issue checks to jackpot winners. Therefore-- we cannot start the payout until the last open rider runs. Please be patient-- it generally takes about 20 minutes to prepare the checks and awards. If you cannot wait, we will mail your check.
Members remember, to be eligible for year end awards you must run at 6 of our 10 point or get participation for running in he 4 saddle series races. And you must turn in a sponsorship for each horse you want to be eligibile on by July 1. RCBR gives great awards to 10th place in the Open!!
Remember- a hit barrel is a "no time," we keep the time with a 5+ for point purposes only.
Members....... please remember to use your horses registered name as RCBR points are based on a horse/rider team.
"MEMBERS ONLY" Members may pre-enter via email, phone or fax up to the day prior to the race for their convenience. In case of an emergency you must call 888-653-9255 to cancel prior to the start of the race. You are responsible to check in and pay for entry fees if you are late or a no show. Non-members may pre-enter by mail only with payment included to the PO Box by the Thursday before the race.
Members....... you may submit a free classified ad on the web site.
Pee Wee class for kids ages 10 & under. This is a walk/trot class or leadline with parent assistance. It will be only for day awards only. All children entered in a class under the age of 5 must wear a helmet. RCBR will provide them if necessary. Children entered in the PeeWee are not allowed to enter any other class.
We now also offer time onlys after the Open for riders who will be running in the Novice, Youth or Senior only. This may apply only to day races depending on time restraints.
Working is no longer mandatory to qualify for year end awards. If you help us with the gate, setting up the course, or setting knocked barrels, we will give $5 credit towards time-onlys or entry fees.
Race results are posted within 24 hours on the web site!!!
Barrel racing etiquette: DO NOT disturb the office staff until an announcement is made that checks are ready. If you cannot wait- we will mail the checks. DO NOT disturb the office staff while there is a run being made or a class is still running. As you know, RCBR pays out by check and will do so within 30 minutes of the event completion as long as we are not interruppted. Please help us, help you by being courteous and helpful at our events.
